British Columbia’s RCMP helps dismantle a global network of cybercrime.


SURREY – Police in British Columbia claim to have destroyed a local group engaged in international criminality using harmful software.
According to Mounties, software and web infrastructure used to steal data from personal devices worldwide have been successfully dismantled by Canadian police and foreign agencies.

They claim that a primary suspect was detained in Greece on November 3 and charged with running software that gave hackers remote access to victims’ computers, while other parts of the business saw the theft of private information such bank account information and passwords.

According to the RCMP, the operation against the cybercrime infrastructure used in ransomware attacks started in 2022 and is the biggest worldwide police operation of its kind.

In addition to those in Canada, police departments from the United States, Germany, France, Australia, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom participated in the investigation and implementation of Operation Endgame.


According to police, the operation involved the dismantling of over 1,000 servers globally.

The investigation and execution of Operation Endgame involved police agencies from the United States, Germany, France, Australia, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom in addition to those in Canada. Over 1,000 servers worldwide were dismantled as part of the operation, according to police.
